I didn't know I had it, couldn't remember why I bought it.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Turning the bottle, the back label read: "After the heroic Jacobite rebellion of 1745, Bonnie Prince Charlie escaped from Scotland leaving the legacy of his royal recipe, which remained a secret for generations on the Isle of Skye."</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">What!???? I am someone more than happily reading Diana Gabaldon's 4th novel (Drums of Autumn) and owns seasons one and two of Starz's Outlander series but who didn't know she had Charles Stuart's favorite drink!? In her own possession!?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">I immediately knew that I had to find a cocktail that uses Drambuie--or create one. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IaB2D-v4lGQ/WEi_J5CeJeI/AAAAAAAAXBo/miwWb-IUbdEryJwNbebcdCwdLubZs25VQCLcB/s1600/opening.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IaB2D-v4lGQ/WEi_J5CeJeI/AAAAAAAAXBo/miwWb-IUbdEryJwNbebcdCwdLubZs25VQCLcB/s1600/opening.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">I started researching cocktails in Mittie Hellmich's <b><i>Bar Book-The Comprehensive Guide</i></b> and found <i>The Bent Nail</i> which called for Drambuie, Kirsh and a blended whisky. I made it, but for me it was just too strong and I didn't get enough of the cherry. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">I was determined. A quest to <b>Lucas liquor</b> was in order, a search for a high quality but mid-priced cherry liqueur. With the help of a nobly kind clerk, I settled on <b>Heering Cherry Liqueu</b>r from Denmark. It has a lovely, festive red color and just the right amount of sweetness. Just in time for the holidays.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">My blended whiskey for this cocktail is <b>Triple Crown</b>. <b>Triple Crown</b> is locally produced nearby in Weston, Missouri. Everyone probably has their favorite. I know I have also used Canadian blended whiskeys before. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ais7d14oG5U/WEi_Sd7agII/AAAAAAAAXBs/VKQmkkAyO6Ijhz2kDmRZXP3PXt1uSPZUgCLcB/s1600/SL2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ais7d14oG5U/WEi_Sd7agII/AAAAAAAAXBs/VKQmkkAyO6Ijhz2kDmRZXP3PXt1uSPZUgCLcB/s1600/SL2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">I've come up with a delightful holiday cocktail that is enthusiastically approved by my much-esteemed panel of critics (my two daughters). So I present............</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>The Scottish Poodle</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>1 oz Drambuie</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>3/4 oz Cherry Liqueur (I used Heerings)</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>1/2 blended whiskey (I used Triple Crown)</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>chilled Club Soda</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Maraschino Cherries </b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Instructions</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>In a cocktail shaker mix the Drambuie, Cherry Liqueur and whisky, add ice and shake. Fill an Old Fashioned Glass half full with ice and add strained cocktail. Fill the glass to the top with the club soda, stir, add cherries and enjoy!</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Here are two other ways that the men in the family found to use <b>Drambuie</b> and <b>Heering</b> at Thanksgiving. Michael added <b>Drambuie</b> to Dr. Pepper and soaked it up. Son in law, Lark, made his own version of Cherry Dr. Pepper with <b>Herring</b>. I did sip both of these and will say they were very good. But the girls and I will take our cocktails any day. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Sophia and Niko</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Getting into the season is Sophia and Niko in their Christmas plaids that I made for them a couple of years ago. Niko is so funny when it comes to pictures. Normally he is a big baby, funny<b> </b>and just "Nicky". When he knows it is picture time, he sits up straight and gets his macho on and becomes "Niko", his given name. Sophia never changes for anything. She just likes to get dressed up. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">And just for fun--while sipping on my new holiday cocktail--I had to do something for this post in Photoshop. Meet Greyson from Clan McPoodle. </span><br />
<br />

Its time for another cocktail from The Poodle Martini Bar. This cocktail is inspired by Summer ease and our own little pirate and sock thief extraordinaire, Niki The Ornery.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gGNX41HJ4EE/V3AnPj4yCzI/AAAAAAAAWIM/t5jEufGHYvcK0enOf7v4OanbDqFVMSQFQCLcB/s1600/Covershotrpr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gGNX41HJ4EE/V3AnPj4yCzI/AAAAAAAAWIM/t5jEufGHYvcK0enOf7v4OanbDqFVMSQFQCLcB/s1600/Covershotrpr.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I can't think of any spirit more associated with summer than Rum. Just the classic rum drinks take you to a place of summer and island paradise. Names such as Mai Tai, Bahama Mama, Daiquiri and Piña Colada give a feeling of swinging in the hammock and taking in the salty sea breeze.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPu0hu2XmFd2nWCmJJryDronQE7lmo1fx7K3E2kMAd59zxvgTdMCHWVfRqSwwRxzQnxi1EUQHRmACDi40SCoW_4RM0BITeqaJAtx6vzksK9XLVa00jyvXAqGiKNlbQHctazO-ZTGvK3Ys/s1600/drinkcloseup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPu0hu2XmFd2nWCmJJryDronQE7lmo1fx7K3E2kMAd59zxvgTdMCHWVfRqSwwRxzQnxi1EUQHRmACDi40SCoW_4RM0BITeqaJAtx6vzksK9XLVa00jyvXAqGiKNlbQHctazO-ZTGvK3Ys/s1600/drinkcloseup.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So let's get on with the drink. You will need a tall glass for this one. It can be shaken or just stirred around in your glass, before or after adding ice. The ingredients are easy and few. With everything having equal representation, the alcohol is not overpowering and also makes it easy to mix up a big batch.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="font-size: x-large;">Rum Poodle Rum</span></b></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>2 ounces dark rum, my favorite is Goslings Black Seal</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>2 ounces pineapple juice</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>2 ounces cranberry juice </b></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Mix or shake. Serve in a tall glass with a lot of ice.</b></span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I am going to keep this short. The history and different types of rum is very fascinating, but I'm going to skip that. I hope everyone is having a great summer. If you live in America, the 4th is almost here. I can tell you what the official cocktail is going to be at my house this Independence Day: <i>Rum Poodle Rum</i>. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Take care and stay cool (literally). </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Today we are taking part in <b><i>Thoughtless</i> <i>Thursday Blog Hop</i></b>.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Now for something a tad bit different. Up to this point, I have concentrated on Poodles in fashion, culture and design.</span><span style="font-size: x-large;"> But Poodles originally had a very different role in society. </span></span><br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">All Poodles descend from the ancient standard size dog and that dog was a retriever. Even the origin of the word "Poodle" emphasizes this. Poodles originated between France and Germany where it was known as the Pudlehund. "Hund" in German is dog and "pudel" comes from a German verb "to splash about". </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The breed was standardized in France where it became a water retriever. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">Poodles (or in France, the Caniche) became so popular that they were bred into the forms that fitted into everyone's life style. Today, Poodles are the national dog of France.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">But all our Poodles, even if we have toys or miniatures, harken back to this retriever tradition. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><br />Below are photos with links to good articles with more information on the new resurgence of Poodles as hunters. I am not a hunter but find this fascinating. </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The Poodle Martini Bar is open and I have a new cocktail. This one is dedicated to my Sophia, the first Poodle that I adopted </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We've been enjoying <i>The Apricot Poodle</i> for a few months but it always takes me forever to get together the photo-shoot for my drinks. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My
aim for cocktails is that they are simple and delicious and think this
one fits to bill. But the key to the deliciousness of The Apricot is the
quality of the Apricot liqueur. I first was using some I had on hand
which was a cheaper bottle and was so discouraged by the results. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I made a trip to Lucas Liquor on a hunt and I found the Orchard liqueurs from Austria's <b>Rothman and Winter</b>. One of them was Apricot. It runs around $20 but is so smooth. It would be delicious in deserts too. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So on the the drink.............</span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello, today I have a little Chihuahua mix from Kansas City's Chain of Hope. She would love to be on someone's lap.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dUWjwkECPOM/VxY0bXKg1RI/AAAAAAAAVhc/V2uxoPeqe_AD0YCVoaKYwQGUAf6mX0w_wCLcB/s1600/Plum-4-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="457" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dUWjwkECPOM/VxY0bXKg1RI/AAAAAAAAVhc/V2uxoPeqe_AD0YCVoaKYwQGUAf6mX0w_wCLcB/s640/Plum-4-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> Her bio says, "Plum is about a 6 mo. old Chihuahua mix. We don’t know what she is mixed
with, but we know she’s cute!!! She weighs about 9 lbs. at this time.
She is now spayed, vaccinated and crate-trained. This little girl will
even put herself to bed! She is in a foster home and progressing very
well on her house training, too! Plum likes to play with other dogs and
then she’s ready to cuddle on your lap." I do think she is quite a cutie. Those ears are something else! I will admit, that I was on my usual Poodle hunt and then saw Plum, and decided she was the "it girl" for today.</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Today I have a little elder Poodle that was given to rescue because her elderly owner could not care for her anymore. I hate stories like this but you know that she had a lot of love growing up and is a great dog and just a tad gorgeous!. She just needs someone to give her a home for her golden years. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I adopted an elder (Millie) two years ago and it has been an incredible experience. I hope this lady finds her Forever home soon. Look at her, she is a Queen. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Cooper is a tri-pod and here is his story:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Cooper will turn 4 in November of this year. He was given up by his owner
because they were working a lot and felt he needed a home where he
would get more attention.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Cooper is a typical St. Poodle, in that he loves to play, likes people and other dogs, </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">His
left leg was amputated when he was just a year old, because he saw
something moving and jumped out of the car window, just as it was being
parked. His leg was damaged beyond repair so was removed. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">He hasn't
been exercised in a while, so his leg isn't as strong as it should be,
so he will need a home that will walk him everyday, starting slow, and
building up the distance. His former home didn't have any steps or
stairs, so he is just now learning how to go up and down a few stairs.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I
don't really consider Cooper special needs but he does need a home that
is very dog savvy, he needs a companion dog to bond with, and a home
with only a few steps.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">He can jump up on the bed, but needs to be helped down, to protect his good front leg.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">NO
CATS & no small dogs. He has never killed a cat but can become
obsessed with them, so best that there are no cats in the home.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">He is
loving, sweet, playful, when excited, he will mouth or "air snap", not
an intentional bite, but could hurt a child. Cooper will make a great
companion for the right family.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fyWDeSemDtk/VrtYrbjh5xI/AAAAAAAAVD0/w3e8SX2SzSg/s1600/FinishedValentine.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fyWDeSemDtk/VrtYrbjh5xI/AAAAAAAAVD0/w3e8SX2SzSg/s1600/FinishedValentine.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Happy early Valentine's Day. This post should have
happened last year. The dresses and vest you see were started about this
time last year. Needless to say, I didn't make that deadline. But, I
decided it was ridiculous that I couldn't get them finished for this
V-Day. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">On Super Bowl Sunday, I did a spiff up grooming for everyone. I have probably mentioned before that after we adopted Sophia, I taught myself grooming. I just knew before all was over, I would have more than one Poodle. Usually I try to spread the grooming out over a week. But I decided to just go for it and get them all done. I guess you could say we had a Super Groom Sunday. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now to the garments; I
loved to make frilly things for my girls when they were small. But now I
only have grandsons. So Sophia and Millie have to put up with a few
ruffles! I can't leave Niko out, so he has another vest. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The fabric is from Hancock Fabric (last year). </span><br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">And finally, our senior citizen and my Foster Fail, Millie</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> <span style="font-size: x-large;">Sophia taking a break. Modeling is hard work!</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> <span style="font-size: x-large;">And just an extra one of Niko. He seems to like having his picture taken. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;">The one down side to all this this is that I can't find the tie and collar I made for Dylan. He got to wear his for Christmas and now I can't figure out where I put it. IF I find it by Sunday, he gets his own post!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;">That's it until next time. Take care. <i><b>Terri</b></i> and the <i><b>Pack.</b></i></span></span><br />

This retired teacher has been subbing a lot! I took some time to check up on how the Standard Poodles were doing that I featured back in December and January. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Today, I can say Aberdeen has found her home. she was a white standard. I will also mention that Aberdeen had professional photos taken of her and I wonder if that helped a little bit. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">The other four, I am going to re-feature here. I knew these Standards were going to be hard. Bean is not a Poodle but he comes with Puppy. It's a packaged deal. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<b><span style="font-size: x-large;"> Tango still needs a home.</span></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oI4vIu_e1Cs/Vrpyjh0TDiI/AAAAAAAAVBc/gLpAlW-iWHE/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="529" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oI4vIu_e1Cs/Vrpyjh0TDiI/AAAAAAAAVBc/gLpAlW-iWHE/s640/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">He's needs a second chance with someone who understands the needs of Standard Poodles, which his first owner certainly did not. He's in South Carolina and you would have to go and meet him. The rescue will not ship. <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32567792">His Petfinder Bio is HERE.</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Puppy and Bean</b></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">This is especially a hard one. You have to adopt them together. They are sole mates and go into deep depression if separated. A Standard and a Pittie. I just hope that someday the right people will come along. </span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">And finally, I have Ellie. Ellie can only be adopted by someone who lives in Georgia, so that does limit her chances. She has been socialized but still will need a lot of guidance and attention. </span><br />

This is not a sponsored post. I have bought this product with my own money and have been using it for about six months. In fact, the company does not even know I am posting this. I may let them know after the fact. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This is a story about Millie, her ear trouble and how it has cleared up at least 95%. I feel that <i>The Honest Kitchen</i> food has helped in this. I don't have any scientific backup or statistics. I only have my personal observation and experience to go on. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I realize there are probably other great foods out there that would have the same results, but this is the one that I have chosen. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5BZWOQuJlqM/VpRL-w7eumI/AAAAAAAAUs0/i5ISwS35RLo/s1600/HonestKBox.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5BZWOQuJlqM/VpRL-w7eumI/AAAAAAAAUs0/i5ISwS35RLo/s1600/HonestKBox.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Firstly, some background on our Millie. She was my "Foster Fail". I first featured her on <a href="http://www.timeforpoodles.com/2013/06/tuesdays-tails-daisy.html">Tuesday's Tails back in June, 2013</a>. Back then, her name was Daisy. The following November, I decided to foster her. A year later, I formally adopted her. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Being a senior, she came with a myriad of problems. One was loss of hearing and some of the cruddiest ears I had ever seen. We had them tested and it seemed to be a bacterial infection, so the usual round of antibiotics was prescribed. However, we would get things cleared up just to have them go bad again a few days later. I spent a lot of time cleaning her ears and that got old. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I tried all the "allergy foods" at the usual pet shops, to no avail. Then I remembered that a blogger friend mentioned <i>The Honest Kitchen</i> in a few of her posts. At the time she was getting a new little Poodle and that was going to be his diet. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Living in a rural area, I went to my usual source, Amazon. And that is how I get my <i>Honest Kitchen</i>. The first box was turkey. On the next round, the turkey went way up in price so I kept my fingers crossed and got chicken. And the results were the same; the ears stayed relative clean. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lVGsfgJ-iVY/VpRMP7qO2lI/AAAAAAAAUs8/p8s9VZFnC_A/s1600/MillieEating.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lVGsfgJ-iVY/VpRMP7qO2lI/AAAAAAAAUs8/p8s9VZFnC_A/s1600/MillieEating.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This food is not the cheapest. Usually, Millie and Sophia are the only two who get it. The other four dogs eat regular hard food and are fine. When I think about the money I was spending on meds and time spent cleaning her ears, it is well worth the investment for me. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Millie also gets a healthy dose of either apples, sweet potatoes or pumpkin every day. If she doesn't, her anal glands become very unhappy. If she gets her fiber, things are fine. So goes the life of a thirteen year old lady.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, in conclusion, I think as long as I use <i>The Honest Kitchen</i>, I won't have too much trouble with the Millie's ears. Extra treats can get us in trouble. So now, I am only giving her apples for treats. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This dog will eat any veggie or fruit I know of, so there is never a problem of finding something she likes!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Another thing <i>The Honest Kitchen</i> has going for it is that it doesn't take up much room. A ten pound box is equivalent to a forty pound sack. That makes storage so much easier. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Thumbs up for The Honest Kitchen, at least for Millie. I still check and clean her ears once a week just to be on the safe side. Cleaning up her ears didn't help her hearing though. She is still pretty deaf. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">That's it for this round. Take care. </span><br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wk3aeXCTW5Y/Vpfnz5rGbJI/AAAAAAAAUwk/bCT1ylS_vdo/s1600/TuesdaysTailsBlogHopOfficialBadge_zpsb5025ffe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wk3aeXCTW5Y/Vpfnz5rGbJI/AAAAAAAAUwk/bCT1ylS_vdo/s1600/TuesdaysTailsBlogHopOfficialBadge_zpsb5025ffe.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Meet Aberdeen! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Aberdeen is an energetic, beautiful, energetic,
affectionate, (did we mention energetic?) pure-bred Standard Poodle with
a rough and tumble attitude. Her favorite activities include playing
fetch, roughing it up with the boys, snuggling with her foster mom and
sleeping on top of her foster brother. She warms to women fairly
easily, but is timid and weary of men. Aberdeen will relax around men,
but must do so in her own time. Due to her high energy level, (springs
and bounces galore!), she would prefer to be around older children who
have both feet firmly on the ground. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pR3o8SPt_GQ/VpQljkwzv4I/AAAAAAAAUsU/lCUhu6TZRT0/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pR3o8SPt_GQ/VpQljkwzv4I/AAAAAAAAUsU/lCUhu6TZRT0/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Because of her large and
in-charge attitude, she would do best with other active dogs and would
like to have one in her forever home. She loves to play to wear her out
and drain her energy. If she hasn't had enough exercise, she will let
you know by bringing you all the toys she can, begging for a game of
fetch! Aberdeen is fostered and does well with other dogs, but she
doesn't play too well with the cats in her foster home, so a home
without feline friends is preferred. Aberdeen is crate trained and
housebroken, but needs to be kept on a strict schedule. She knows most
basic commands and we are told she is agility trained. We haven't had a
chance to test it out, but she picked up on a couple of tricks in only a
matter of minutes including jumping up on and leaping between two
elevated surfaces! She is very bright and would love an adopter who
would continue training her.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G_t_M6vQQp0/VpQlrltpu4I/AAAAAAAAUsc/kr6sUR4FPVI/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrontc.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G_t_M6vQQp0/VpQlrltpu4I/AAAAAAAAUsc/kr6sUR4FPVI/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrontc.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">She needs an experienced adopter who is
familiar with Standard Poodles and their energetic needs who is willing
to set and stick to firm boundaries. Aberdeen unfortunately spent
roughly one third of her life crated in a basement, and she has some
resource guarding when it comes to food items but is working on
overcoming this in her foster home with reassurance and positive
reinforcement. If you think you can keep up with this girl-on-the-go,
fill out an application online today! </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">She is just your typical Standard, Super Beautiful, Super Intelligent and Super Energetic. </span><br />

Time to introduce a lovely girl names Kami. At the moment she is waiting for her Forever Home in Southern Pines, North Caroline. She is a Standard Poodle and Labrador Retriever Mix. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ORUgIORMnZ4/VosORg1l8cI/AAAAAAAAUjk/Fkcj4udPihs/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ORUgIORMnZ4/VosORg1l8cI/AAAAAAAAUjk/Fkcj4udPihs/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Kami is a big girl... Active and Intelligent! She needs a family that
has time for training! Teenagers would be great but her crazy energy is
too much for small children. We rescued her from a County Shelter where
her owners said they were moving and couldn't take her because they
couldn't put up with her energy anymore. <br />She loves loves loves to
play fetch and returns 98% of the time!!! She needs a loving and
patient family. Visit www.solutionsforanimals.org to complete a
Consideration Form! We do recommend if you are serious about adopting to
submit the form prior to visiting! This also helps facilitate the
adoption process and allows the form to go to the adoption counselor for
the animal you are interested in adopting! The proper counselor can
then answer your questions! Thank you!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpYUIP31gaZcMgUlcywHu9Rj1TS5YaQulioKQ-jOEV7eAMkOgktRtliJbQgDwTQTTBYXFK8TIxkW26hDa_MnQvoHSSXk82dCPvyRvxMXPY9vkf9CWOAN7TbedOnsOdHNP2Qu7ILHXeh_U/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrontb.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpYUIP31gaZcMgUlcywHu9Rj1TS5YaQulioKQ-jOEV7eAMkOgktRtliJbQgDwTQTTBYXFK8TIxkW26hDa_MnQvoHSSXk82dCPvyRvxMXPY9vkf9CWOAN7TbedOnsOdHNP2Qu7ILHXeh_U/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrontb.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Like all Standards and Labs, Kami needs someone who will dedicate themselves to her training. That was probably lacking with her previous owners. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">As with all the Poodles I have been featuring the last month, Kami is safe where she is but would be a lot happier if she had her own peeps. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Please let anyone know who is looking for an active intelligent girl please let them know about her. <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/33628866">Here Bio can be found on Petfinder. </a></span><br />

Today I have Ellie. Ellie is a beautiful café au lait poodle girl born 9/18/10.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i09Ta4JTIvk/VnivsxLaJoI/AAAAAAAAUeU/VUgi1Im4k4w/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i09Ta4JTIvk/VnivsxLaJoI/AAAAAAAAUeU/VUgi1Im4k4w/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">It is probably good that I already have six dogs and live in the Mid-West because Ellie is my kind of dog. Georgia Poodle Rescue does not adopt out of state, so I am safe! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">You need to go <i><a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/30754094">here</a></i> to read her whole story. She</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">does come with problems but if someone is retired or at home a lot, things could be worked out. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">I so hope this gorgeous girl gets her home for Christmas. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Good luck Ellie.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;">This is a blog hop so there are going to be other great
dogs and cats who need homes. Please check out the blogs below for other
deserving folks. </span><br />

He was picked up on the side of the road. I can't believe that a Standard Poodle was wandering around without a home, but that seems to be the case. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">What a beautiful boy. But Puppy comes with Bean. The South Caroline Poodle Rescue will not separate them. They tried it once and Bean got physically sick. He only got better when they reunited him with Puppy. Bean is a Pitt Bull Terrier and the bond between these two boys is super super strong.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNoe9pwUWdo/Vm4TlMBdIoI/AAAAAAAAUaw/lJfi7hKEZzA/s1600/drpemPUP3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNoe9pwUWdo/Vm4TlMBdIoI/AAAAAAAAUaw/lJfi7hKEZzA/s1600/drpemPUP3xzef3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is Bean. He and Puppy pretty well match in color, don't they. Both boys tested for light Heart-worm positive. This means that they are only given a small pill once a month until they test clean. We had a heartworm positive Lab once who had to go through some pretty major stuff so this once a month pill is no biggie as far as I am concerned. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PoWuxOrjv84/Vm4UJaIDtZI/AAAAAAAAUa4/4UYshjBTuls/s1600/drpem3xzefBEAN3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PoWuxOrjv84/Vm4UJaIDtZI/AAAAAAAAUa4/4UYshjBTuls/s1600/drpem3xzefBEAN3kf.cloudfront.net.jpeg" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Anyone who follows me, knows that we have a Pit mix
and how I feel about the poor attitudes against the Pitties. They
are incredible great dogs if (like any dog) raised in the correct
atmosphere. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I do realize it will take a very special person to take on two puppies. I am sure Puppy is full of energy. Dreamweaver Farms where South Carolina Poodle Rescue must be located, will not ship dogs. You have to go and meet them. It would be $400 for both these boys. So here's to Bean and Puppy finding their perfect home together. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you know anyone who would like to take on two beautiful boys, please have them go to <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32567714">Puppy's PROFILE</a> or <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32567696">Beans PROFILE</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">For a while, I am going to feature Standard Poodles in the Southern U.S. that needs to be adopted. This was requested by a friend whose sister (in the South) had to say goodbye to an old friend and is thinking of adopting a Standard Poodle. I don't think I've every featured a Standard. I tend to concentrate on any dog around the Midwest, but here's to something new. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I am starting out with a challenge. I read about Tango and was dismayed. How not to raise a Standard Poodle! It sounds to me that the original owners just wanted something for show and didn't know or care to know about the nature of a Standard Poodle. These dogs are high energy retrievers. Only topped by Border Collies for intelligence, Standard Poodles need stick guidance, positive activities and BIG TIME exercise. They will take you over, if you don't know how to handle them. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Unfortunately, I don't think any of the above was in Tango's upbringing. He will need someone with experience, patience and love to show him that life can be good. When you read his story, you will know what I mean. A shock collar at 18 months and made to sit in an office all day? You will understand why he has some issues. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">If you know anyone who wants a Standard and wants to make a big difference in a dog's life, please let them know about Tango. They will have to travel to Spartanburg, South Caroline. The rescue will not ship. And frankly, you would have to meet Tango and talk to his sponsor to really make a decision, I think. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32567792">Tango's PETFINDER PAGE IS HERE.</a> All good dogs deserves multiple chances to find the right owner. Tango's first one messed him up big time and I hope he finds an angel out there to help him become the great dog he can be.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Well, that's it for today. Take care everyone-Signing off......</span><br />

<b><span style="font-size: x-large;">Jake has found a home!</span></b></div>

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Three times this month my path has crossed with a new animal rescue organization in the Kansas City area. The third time was the charm and I think it is time I shared their vision and mission. And, of course, I have to show one of their pups that needs a forever home. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The Rescue Project works to educate and assist families with pets. They also rescue animals in very dire circumstances and try to find them new homes. This organization works across the state line helping those in Missouri and Kansas. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I wanted to print their own words as far as their vision and mission. </span><br />
<br />
<h2>
Our Vision</h2>
<i><span style="font-size: large;">The Rescue Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to building
trustful relationships with people and their pets and improving the
lives of needy animals living in underserved Kansas City communities.
We provide basic survival items such as food and dog houses and offer
low cost veterinary resources emphasizing the need to spay and neuter.
We also provide community education/awareness to the public on
responsible pet ownership and empower people to make a difference.
</span></i><br />
<h2>
Our Mission</h2>
<i><span style="font-size: large;">To help abandoned, neglected and forgotten animals in Kansas City and
surrounding areas. To raise awareness through community education
programs of animal overpopulation, disease control and provide resources
for veterinary services. </span></i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b_ZsbARBaeA/VhPPnLa_OoI/AAAAAAAAT9E/c7BLD5m8bfM/s1600/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrpppppont.net.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b_ZsbARBaeA/VhPPnLa_OoI/AAAAAAAAT9E/c7BLD5m8bfM/s640/drpem3xzef3kf.cloudfrpppppont.net.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And now to Jake. The second I saw the Jake on their flyer at the Crossroads Friday night, my heart when pitter patter. This little guy is a cutie. He's is a Poodle/Terrier mix. The Rescue Project found him living in a box. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Jake is only four years old and with a little TLC and grooming he is going to be a great looking boy. So if you know anyone or are interested in Jake yourself, please go to his <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/33329564"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Petfinder</b></span></a> page. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That's it for this Tuesday Tail. Have a great week and here's to Jake finding the home he deserves. </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">On June the 16th, I put up a post featuring<a href="http://www.timeforpoodles.com/2015/06/following-atticus-by-tom-ryan.html"> <b>Lana</b></a>, a Poodle who needed a home. I always try to find a dog or cat for the Tuesday's Tails Blog Hop. This is something my Facebook friends just have to put up about me.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The next day, I got a text and photo from my friend K that she had adopted Lana but she had named her Hope. Hope is a victim of the MO/KS puppy mill system. Having two of these survivors myself, I know the challenges that lie ahead for K and Hope. If anyone can help Hope it will be K. She is a special education specialist with the patience of Job. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This first photo was taken in June, a couple of days after Hope came home. On the left is Jersey, her brother. This is a big change for him too. He has gone from being an only child to having someone else to share his space with. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f8Pu-43gG5s/VcpxHQBDh7I/AAAAAAAATWk/BNi8THw_njk/s1600/Hope%2526JersetDay2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f8Pu-43gG5s/VcpxHQBDh7I/AAAAAAAATWk/BNi8THw_njk/s1600/Hope%2526JersetDay2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">A couple of weeks ago I visited K and Hope to check up on how she was doing. I took along Millie, our senior Poodle. Millie is a very calm dog and she has never gotten to go anywhere alone with me. I thought she would do well at this little get together. I was right. Millie was so calm she just settled in and took a couple of naps while she was there. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">When we arrived, Hope was in her favorite place which is her bed right next to Mom's chair. Typical of these dogs, she does not take her eyes off K and usually follows her everywhere. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf-Z58XNsTA/Vcp2VEyZjzI/AAAAAAAATW4/O9rcoxxWuCI/s1600/HopeInHerBed-P%25231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lf-Z58XNsTA/Vcp2VEyZjzI/AAAAAAAATW4/O9rcoxxWuCI/s1600/HopeInHerBed-P%25231.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Jersey was the first to greet us. He is a very active boy and can play non stop forever. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iCwQ4CadF7g/Vcp2scJvzjI/AAAAAAAATXA/OxGK1SYk2hM/s1600/Gersey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iCwQ4CadF7g/Vcp2scJvzjI/AAAAAAAATXA/OxGK1SYk2hM/s1600/Gersey.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We had a wonderful surprise. K's Mom was there with Benny (yea, another Poodle). About a couple of years ago, I posted Benny on Facebook (not through Tuesday's Tails). Benny had a rough start in life and had been without a home for a while. At the time, I just couldn't believe he didn't have a home yet. Needless to say, he had a home the next day. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Benny was so sweet with Millie. I caught this photo of them exchanging sniffs. As you can see, I made sure Millie was decked out in her pretties. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yLpnhlLiT80/Vcqb4RJKvCI/AAAAAAAATXY/a_PJ8fR1oxM/s1600/Benny%2526Milie%25232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yLpnhlLiT80/Vcqb4RJKvCI/AAAAAAAATXY/a_PJ8fR1oxM/s1600/Benny%2526Milie%25232.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Everyone was quite busy. But Hope was just a little tentative. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5HwFjGxZMi8/VcqcFgoQEsI/AAAAAAAATXg/07f4IPXJBXE/s1600/Poodlesinmotion.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5HwFjGxZMi8/VcqcFgoQEsI/AAAAAAAATXg/07f4IPXJBXE/s1600/Poodlesinmotion.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Finally, YEA, Hope emerges from her safe bed to join in. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dU1Gm1iAOpU/VcqcQbQhnfI/AAAAAAAATXo/XnuGS3fC8uk/s1600/Hopeventuringout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dU1Gm1iAOpU/VcqcQbQhnfI/AAAAAAAATXo/XnuGS3fC8uk/s1600/Hopeventuringout.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I brought a selection of my hand-knitted dog wear for Hope and Bennie to choose from. Everyone was quite interested in the shopping bag that the doggie wear was in. Bennie got a scarf and Hope got a Doggie shawl. And I didn't get any pictures of them wearing their new finery. I guess better luck next time! </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GgWZcteN_E0/VcqccTiJARI/AAAAAAAATXw/SrrN1Kn64A8/s1600/checkinthestuff.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GgWZcteN_E0/VcqccTiJARI/AAAAAAAATXw/SrrN1Kn64A8/s1600/checkinthestuff.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">A small visit turned into a small Poodle party. I know the Mom's have a great time. It was so much fun to see the dogs interact with each other, especially Hope. I have a hunch we will have some more in the future. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hope has a way to go. Sometimes I think it is two steps forward and one step backward. The process is slow. We have had Sophia for five years now and just this year, we felt she made a giant leap as far as being comfortable with other members of the family. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Millie is completely different. She was a breeder much longer than Hope or Sophia and she came with a sweet heart and just loves everyone. I think she is a very rare dog indeed. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So this ends my ramble of our little get together. I have a feeling that there will be more about Benny, Hope and Gersey. As I mentioned earlier, I think there might be a few more Poodle parties in the future.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Well that is it for our <b>Thoughtless Thursday</b> and <b>Barks and Bytes</b>. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And a big
shout out to Rukus The Eskie, Owned By A Huskie, M.K. Clinton, Heart
Like A Dog and Two Brown Dawgs for hosting these two great hops</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Have a wonderful week and take care. <i><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Terri </b></span></i></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: x-large;">Today, we are joining Tasty Tuesday. I guess you could say this is tasty that can kill. This peanut butter thing is sort of scary because I know how much my pups love peanut butter. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TsCIq_DCgeg/VcjLrCjLOSI/AAAAAAAATU4/FaAtnNofLpE/s1600/xcover1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="618" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TsCIq_DCgeg/VcjLrCjLOSI/AAAAAAAATU4/FaAtnNofLpE/s640/xcover1.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">It has been over two years since I first wrote about Xylitol. At that time it was just about not using it as a sweetener. At that time, it seem to be only found in toothpaste. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">This year, a scarier version of Xylitol can be found. At last count five peanut butters are using it as a sweetener. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">These brands are:</span><br />
<br />
<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://www.gonutsco.com/">Go Nuts,Co</a>. </span></b><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;"><br /></span>

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">These particular peanut butters seem to be speciality items found in places like GNC. But things have a habit of filtering down. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have provided links to the companies. I am going to contact them and encourage them to put something about putting something on their websites about Xylitol being poison to dogs because I am sure many of their customers own dogs.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I am sure they know this fact and have been contacted numerous times but I am thinking a few more won't hurt. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">And since this is a Foodie Blog Hop, I did want to put out a Peanut Butter Cookie for dogs that I have. I used creamy Natural Jif (sweetened with molasses and sugar). </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">My husband and I are always trying to watch our calories. We started buying Stevia for a suger substitute. About a year ago, he brought something else home from the little store that we sometime patronize because they didn't have Stevia in. I didn't think anything about it, and just left it on the dining room table for us to use. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Our daughter, a veterinarian was visiting one weekend and saw the package. What she said shocked me. It was something to the effect, "Mom, this stuff is poison for dogs. If any of your dogs get this, it will kill them." I read the label which said Xylitol, and put it away in a cabinet. And there was a new decree: "Never bring that stuff in the home again!"</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This was a shocking bit of news to me. I don't think I am alone. </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Jake is a 9 year old male poodle / shih tzu mix. Nine is pretty much middle age for Jake. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> He weighs 16 lbs. Jake
is looking for a new home due to no fault of his own. His owner had to
give him up because she had too many dogs. Jake is a very well behaved,
low key, sweet dog. He has a very nice disposition. He is house trained
and gets along great with other dogs. His adoption fee is $200 which
includes neuter, shots, heartworm test, dental and deworming. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">If you or if you know of anyone who would be interested in Jake please check out his <a href="https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32698836/"><i><b><span style="font-size: x-large;">Petfinder Bio</span></b></i></a>. </span><br />
