Mainzer's Cats

Today's post harkens back to my very earliest Poodle posts on my original blog, Meadowtree Journal. At the time, I was pretty amazed how Poodles had been used in fashion and advertising throughout the years. Never having Poodles until five years ago, I hadn't bother to look.

I found the Mainzer cat postcards while I was looking for something else. Mainzer is the publishing company of these cards. The actual artist was Eugen Hartung (1897-1973). These cards were especially popular from the 40s to the 60s. Mainzer is still very available on Ebay. There is a good article about them on Ebay found HERE.

The main reason I am doing the cats first (there will be a part 2 next week) is that they had Poodles as pets, yes Poodles. I didn't comment on any of these vignettes. I think they speak for themselves. So I hope you enjoy!

That's it for today.

We have two favorite blog hops, Thoughtless Thursday and Barks and Bytes, and are doing them both today. Check out the other blogger's link ups down below.

And a big shout out to Rukus The Eskie, Owned By A Huskie, M.K. Clinton, Heart Like A Dog and Two Brown Dawgs for hosting these two great hops.
