Say Hello to Darcy

Hello,

How are all of you and your fur kids coping with these crazy times we are living through? I don't know about you, but it's times like these that I'm grateful for my four legged family members.
Hello, how do you do-right before we went out the door at the Joplin Humane Society
Hello, how do you do-just before we left the Joplin Humane Society on July 10th.

And speaking of fur kids, I have an introduction to make. After losing both my girls within six months, it was time to add to our pack. Now we still have three oldsters with us; Dylan (age 15), Penny (age 11) and, of course he who once was the baby, Niki (age 9).

I am thrilled to introduce Darcy, who has just recently joined the family. Michael has been wanting someone to help him take care of the place, as you might say. We finally headed down to The Joplin Humane Society and he met Darcy (whose name was Bobby at the time).
                                                              Going For a Ride!

Darcy is part Border Collie and at ten months old, a bundle of energy. I think that is why his original family gave him up. He needs space to just run like crazy.

Darcy loves to swim, which does not make a fishing loving grandson too happy. Darcy scares away the fish!

We’ve taught him to sit and not chase chickens. He would still love to catch a sheep (he can’t get in their field, fortunately). If Covid weren’t upon us, we would have him enrolled in Puppy School.

I'm such a help! Catch any fish?

When our grand old Black Lab, Bennett passed in January of ’19, things just haven’t been the same. I don’t know if Darcy will fill his shoes but we’re already pretty crazy about the guy.

If you have read Jane Austin, something might hit you about both names. Yes, occasionally, I name our dogs after Jane Austin characters. And Darcy is a fitting name for this dapper boy.
Framed! Darcy's creative way of bringing back the Frisbee.

That all I have today. It’s been a nice feeling to get to talk about a new fur baby. Has anyone else added someone new to their life?

Take care & Stay safe

Terri

Tuesday's Tails-Cheeco The Chihuahua Would Love A Home

I would like you to meet Cheeco. He is a little seven pound seven month old Chihuahua that was saved from a high kill shelter. At the moment Cheeco is in foster care which means he is being very socialized.

He is a gem in and a half. Cheeco loves to play with toys, is leash-trained, and gets along well with other dogs, cats and birds. He is crate-trained and housebroken. Cheeco sounds like a pretty smart boy to me!

If you want or know anyone who would needs a perfect little companion, please go to his Petfinder page which is here.

Tuesday's Tails-Daisy

Hi, It's Sophia again. This is our Tuesday's Tails post and we are trying to help Daisy find her Forever Home.

Daisy is a Miniature Poodle and has been at Riverhill Rescue (in Missouri) since April. She is about three years old. Daisy is a retired breeder but is really social and sweet. Because of her time in the breeding facility, Daisy is  hearing impaired.
She hears, but just not very well.

Daisy is leash trained, crate trained, and pretty
much house trained. And she likes and gets along with other dogs.

I sure think she would make a great sister for someone or she could be just an only child.

I'm sure she wouldn't mind either one, if she could just have her own home.

Well, that's it for today. We hope we can come back later and report that Daisy has found her Forever Home.
